Thousands of liquid fuel plant workers go on protest action in Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Thousands of workers of GTL Enter Engineering, employing around 12,000 people in Guzar district, Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan, went on protest action on October 21.
The video of Uzbek service of RFE/RL showed around 5,000 workers of the plant in helmets storming the plant building.
Special forces of the National Guard, National Security Service, Interior Ministry were deployed to the area.
There is no information yet on injured or casulaties. The video showed the blood spots on the floor in the office. The computer equipment and furniture in administrative office of the factory are broken.
According to preliminary information, workers were dissatisfied with that they did not get meals and their monthly salaries were not transferred to their bank cards.
According to Tez News, the incident occurred due to technical failure in electronic access system in the canteen for workers. The workers could not have breakfast in the result. That led to protests.
"A team of technical specialists is working to fix the problem in the system. The management of the company arrived in Kashkadarya region to investigate the situation and to prevent its recurrence in future," said the report.
The factory of GTL Enter Engineering is one of the innovative production enterprises in the region producing synthetic liquid fuel.
