Japarov comments on appointment of new Chief of State Customs Service

AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister Sadyr Japarov commented on the appointment of Elnura Mambetjunusheva, who was previously involved in criminal probes of the financial police, as new Chief of the State Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan at the press conference on October 14 in Bishkek.
He said this role was discussed for the past several days.
"We were discussing for 4-5 days who will be able to lead the State Customs Service, who will cope with such a task, who will be supported by the team. I was told that the first and second Deputy Chairmen of the State Customs Service were Raim Matraimov's associates working under corruption scheme. Mambetjunusheva has nothing to do with these schemes, they told me, that's why I made such a decision," he said.
Raimbek Matraimov is nicknamed "Raim-million" over his alleged illegal wealth. Matraimov was sacked in November 2017 as Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service over the loss of government's trust.
