AKIPRESS.COM - As of October 8, more than 1,300 people receive treatment from coronavirus at hospitals of Kyrgyzstan.
According to representative of the Ministry of Health Ainura Akmatova, just two weeks ago around 500 people were in hospitals treating COVID-19.
Kyrgyzstan has 8163 beds prepared for admitting patients with coronavirus, she said.
After spike in active cases in Batken, Jalal-Abad and Osh regions, today the growth in new cases is seen in Bishkek, she said.
"In the morning (of October 8), 77 new cases were confirmed in the capital," she said.
She blamed failure to follow health recommendations for the growth in infection.
"We raised the alarm during political campaigning when no one was wearing masks, keeping safe distance, and so on. Cafes and restaurants hosted mass events despite bans and raids," she said.
