Crowd demanding suspension of Eti Bakir gold company activities in Chatkal

AKIPRESS.COM - Local residents of Ala-Buka district of Jalal-Abad region gathered in Terek-Sai village of Chatkal district. Protesters are demanding suspension of activities of the Eti Bakir gold mining company at the Terek-Sai deposit, the head of Terek-Sai village Bolotbek Ashirbayev said.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a gold recovery plant and tailing dump was held on September 26 at the Terek-Sai deposit of Chatkal.
Eti Bakir Tereksai LLC is a joint venture with Kyrgyzaltyn owning 25% of the stake and Eti Bakir Tereksai Turkish company owning 75%.
