Supreme Court brings back Kyrgyzstan party to parliamentary race

AKIPRESS.COM - The Supreme Court today dismissed the cassation appeal of the Central Election Commission concerning Kyrgyzstan party.
On August 25, the Central Election Commission made the decision to return the documents for registration of candidates for parliamentary elections to Kyrgyzstan party after the documents were submitted by a person other than the party's authorized representative as required by the effective legislation and this way barred the party from parliamentary race.
Kyrgyzstan party appealed to the administrative court of Bishkek against the decision of the Central Election Commission.
On August 27, the administrative court of Bishkek sustained the claim of Kyrgyzstan party and invalidated the decision of the Central Election Commission.
The Central Election Commission submitted the cassation appeal to the Supreme Court.
The Central Election Commission should now receive documents from Kyrgyzstan party and register its candidates to run for the parliamentary elections.
The election campaign starts on September 4. The parliamentary elections are scheduled for October 4.
