U.S. sends 200 lung ventilators valued at $2.5 million to Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - The United States sent 200 lung ventilators valued at $2.5 million to Uzbekistan, according to Uzbekistan's Embassy in the US, Dunyo news agency reported. The ventilators are being donated as part of the humanitarian aid announced in June by the administration of President Donald Trump.
The American manufacturer Zoll Medical Corporation produced the ventilators. The company has over 40 years of experience in developing technologies and software for medical purposes.
The provided ventilators are manufactured by special order in accordance with the needs of technical infrastructure of healthcare system in Uzbekistan.
Doctors use ventilators for intensive care both in inpatient treatment and during transportation by air medical transport or in ambulances.
Doctors of the University of California have confirmed ventilator effectiveness in treating patients infected with COVID-19, including those in serious condition.
The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan will distribute the ventilators among 62 healthcare institutions across the country.
