Over 500,000 families receive food assistance in Kyrgyzstan by Aug 1

AKIPRESS.COM - More than 525,000 needy families received food assistance by August 1, Deputy Minister of Social Development and Labor Aliza Soltonbekova said. Food assistance was financed from the local budget, donations and the central budget.
The lists of needy families were made by local administrations, who monitor such families.
Special commissions comprised of civil society activists oversaw distribution of food assistance.
The government allocated 9,181 tons of flour and 327.7 tons of sugar for needy families.
