AKIPRESS.COM - Up to 4.2 million people in Kyrgyzstan may contract coronavirus, according to forecasts of researchers, Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov told a press briefing today.
There are few cases among children under 9 years, for this reason they were not taken into account, the Prime Minister said.
"According to open source information, 2/3 of people have not contracted coronavirus or had asymptomatic form. Among 1.4 million people one third or 466,000 people had mild form or asymptomatic form," the Prime Minister said.
The group of researchers is working on this on the ground, trying to figure out how many contracted the virus and how many people more may fall ill, Boronov said.
"They study towns and districts with lots of cases and few cases. Then we will be able to learn how many people had coronavirus," the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister asked to respect health measures and maintain social distancing, not to leave home without essential reasons and seek medical assistance when necessary.
Population of Kyrgyzstan made 6.564 million by June 1, 2020.
