President of Turkmenistan suggests WHO methods to fight against pandemic

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a video conference with Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros Ghebreyesus on August 7, Foreign Ministry's press service reports.
Sides discussed bilateral cooperation, fight against coronavirus pandemic.
The leader of Turkmenistan noted the development of their national health care system in 25 years.
Berdimuhamedov emphasized efforts undertaken against virus worldwide and suggested WHO to implement coronavirus genome study program, to improve methods of disease diagnosis in regions, to create methodological center for treatment and prevention of acute infectious diseases.
Tedros Ghebreyesus noted that the WHO will study the proposals of the Turkmen leader and carry out joint activities.
Turkmenistan and WHO agreed to expand cooperation in the fight against new threats to public health.
