AKIPRESS.COM - The expected aid for health care sector support before the end of 2020 makes $53 million, according to the report of the Ministry of Finance of July 29 on financing attracted by the country for coronavirus fight.
This aid will include:
A) World Bank:
- $12.2 million - the agreement was ratified on May 4, the tender procedures are in progress;
- $5.8 million - the contracts were signed for $6.2 million. Supplies worth $3.2 million were delivered. Supplies for $3 million will be delivered in July-August.
B) Asian Development Bank - $20 million
C) Islamic Development Bank - $15 million.
The agreements with the Asian Development Bank and the Islamic Development Bank were ratified by the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan on June 25. The tender procedures are in process.
All these projects aim to support the national healthcare sector (vehicles, equipment, personal protective gear, consumables) and to increase capacity of hospitals (medical equipment, consumables, improvement of medical waste utilization, etc.).
