President Aliyev sacks Foreign Minister

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Azerbaijan Ilkham Aliyev dismissed Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov today, RIA Novosti reported.
Mamedyarov has held the post of Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan since 2004.
At the earlier government meeting discussing the socio-economic development of Azerbaijan in the first half of 2020, Aliyev slammed work of the Foreign Minister, saying he could not find him at work place since escalation of hte conflict on the border with Armenia.
Jeikhun Bairamov replaced Mamedyarov, who previously was Minister of Education.
