Kyrgyzstan to receive 507 multifunctional wheelchairs soon

AKIPRESS.COM - Multifunctional wheelchairs will arrive in Kyrgyzstan, Minister of Labor and Social Development Ulugbek Kochkorov told a press briefing on July 15.
This year funding for purchase of wheelchairs was increased 5 times, the Minister said.
"The legislation did not allow purchase of multifunctional wheelchairs before, but they are much needed. The changes were made in the governmental resolutions. The multifunctional wheelchairs were purchased for the first time. The first batch of wheelchairs arrived, the second batch is expected soon," he said.
2,000 regular wheelchairs and 507 multifuncitonal wheelchairs will arrive in total, the Minister said.
The Minister asked citizens to visit local offices of the Ministry of Social Development if they need wheelchairs. They are provided free of charge.
