Turkmenabat hospitals working in emergency mode due to WHO team visit

AKIPRESS.COM - The medical institutions in Turkmenabat are currently operating in round-the-clock working schedule seven days a week in connection with the visit of the WHO experts to Turkmenistan, Chronicles of Turkmenistanreports. Medical doctors, nurses and hospital aides who had been previously made redundant because of staff reductions have returned to work and additional employees have been hired.
Medical staff have been instructed to wear personal protective equipment, including elbow-length rubber gloves. Hospital aides in each department are assigned to help medical doctors and nurses put on their PPEs.
Recently hired hospital attendants are paid 65 manats per shift.
Hospitals and outpatient clinics will continue to maintain this schedule until the WHO mission departs the country.
During the visit of the WHO officials all intensive care patients in the general inpatient clinic were transferred to regular hospital wards and were returned only after the experts left, according to a correspondent of "Azatlyk".
