Russia to support Mongolia's decision to become SCO member - diplomat

AKIPRESS.COM - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov said Mongolia is reviewing possibility to become member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Russia will support Mongolia if the country chooses membership in SCO, Igor Morgulov stated during interview with TASS on July 2.
"Mongolia is discussing possibility to become SCO member. This decision has supporters and opponents," he said.
"I'm not going to influence the final choice of Mongolia, because this is their right of sovereignty. If they choose to participate, the Russian Federation will support this, and as I suppose other members of the organization will be glad to see Mongolia as part of our big SCO family," Morgulov said.
Mongolia is observer state in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization at the moment.
