Mayoral election held in Kara-Suu

AKIPRESS.COM - Kara-Suu mayoral election is held today from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm, the Central Election Commission said. One candidate has been registered - Adyl Lolobaev, who was nominated by SDPK faction in Kara-Suu local council.
According to the law on local self-government, mayors are elected by the local council via secret ballot.
The Kara-Suu local council consists of 31 councilors. The candidate for mayor should gain the majority of votes.
The mayor of Kara-Suu was dismissed from post on March 4 after he tendered resignation.
The mayoral election was set for March 25, but was delayed then in connection with coronavirus pandemic.
