Batken resident tried to sell endangered 1.5-meter lizard

AKIPRESS.COM - A resident who tried to sell an endangered grey 1.5-meter lizard was detained in Batken district, the Batken department of biodiversity conservation leading specialist Baktiyar Kozubayev said.
The department's staff members learned about the sale of the endangered animal on the internet and contacted the seller. The lizard was valued at 5000 soms.
The seller was detained red-handed while trying to sell the endangered animals to undercover workers of department of biodiversity conservation.
The lizard was released in a field near the village of Jany-Jer.
