Parliament hears report by temporary commission for Aierken Saimaiti's scheme

AKIPRESS.COM - The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan today has heard the report of the temporary parliamentary commission investigating and checking the information related to Chinese businessman Aierken Saimaiti. The commission was set up on November 21, 2019. Saimaiti was mentioned in the investigative report by Azattyk as the person involved into withdrawal of hundreds of millions US dollars from Kyrgyzstan and unveiling corruption among high-raking customs officials in Kyrgyzstan.
"The main activities of Aierken Saimaiti were connected with the bank accounts of Abdyraz LLC, private entrepreneur Wufuli Bumailiamu, withdrawal of cash. Saimaiti charged feeds for his services from owners of cash. Until 2012, Saimaiti carried money of salespersons from Kara-Suu market in Osh region to Turkey and China," MP Talant Mamytov, chairman of the commission, said.
The Azattyk report said more than $3 million were transferred to the Ismail Ata Foundation. During the check, the information only on $199,000 was confirmed. The information for the rest sum turned out to be false, MP Mamytov said.
The parliamentary commission said the transparency of the financial and banking system of the country needs to be enhanced and the efforts should be stepped to counter money laundering.
