Rally against ex-President Atambayev held outside court building in Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - The rally in protest against ex-President Almazbek Atambayev is held today outside the Pervomaiskiy district court in Bishkek.
Around 40 protesters demand punishment for him.
Almazbek Atambayev is supposed to stand before trial today on the Koi-Tash events of August 7-8, 2019. During attempted storming of ex-President Almazbek Atambayev's residence to detain him on August 7, dozens were injured and 1 national security task force deputy commander was killed. 6 SWAT soldiers were taken hostage and released the next day. The second storming on August 8 ended with Atambayev's arrest.
The similar protest was held on June 1 outside the court building. Supporters of ex-President Atambayev also rallied outside the court the same day. Police forces separated the opposing groups.
