Uzbekistan invited to International Olive Council virtual meeting

AKIPRESS.COM - Representatives of Uzbekistan's Embassy in Spain held online talks with International Olive Council Executive Director Abdellatif Ghedira, Dunyo news agency reported.
The talks focused on the visit of IOC delegation to Uzbekistan in February 2020, cooperation in olive cultivation, Uzbekistan's entry into the Olive Council.
IOC Executive Director invited representatives of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Agriculture to participate in the 111st meeting of the organization on July 1 that will be held online in observer status.
IOC was founded in 1959. 11 Mediterranean countries in Europe and Africa became council's founders: Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, the UK, Israel, Libya, Morocco, Tunis.
Headquartered in Madrid, IOC includes 17 countries. IOC unites 80% of producers and 98% of exporters of olive oil and olives.
The aims of IOC are to organize international cooperation for production, selling of olive oil, development of olive agriculture, improvement in education of agricultural experts.
