Apricot harvesting starts in Batken

AKIPRESS.COM - The apricot harvesting has started in Jany-Jer village, Leilek district, Batken region, Turmush reported.
Jany-Jery village lies 400 m above the sea. The climate is hot there and for this reason fruits ripen earlier than in other parts of Batken region.
Apricot trees occupy 8,000 ha in Batken region in total. 100,000 tons of apricots are harvested every year. 80% of the harvest is exported, the rest is processed by local enterprises.
