Gorno-Badakhshan governor taken to hospital with suspected coronavirus

AKIPRESS.COM - Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region Governor Yodgor Faizov and his spouse were taken to the infectious diseases hospital in Khorog with suspected coronavirus infection, Asia-Plus reported with reference to the region governor's press secretary. "Their samples were taken for Covid-19 tests and sent to Dushanbe. The results are yet to be obtained, they stay at hospital. The condition of the region governor is stable. He is receiving antiviral therapy," Goliba Niyatbekov said. His spouse may be discharged from hospital and will receive treatment at home, the press secretary suggested.
Gorno-Badakhshan authorities restricted entry to the region, except for health workers and local government officials.
