Uzbekistan provides humanitarian aid to Tajikistan for about $2.5 million this year

AKIPRESS.COM - Tajikistan received humanitarian assistance for $7.787 million for 4 months of 2020, Asia-Plus reported with reference to the Statistics Agency under the President of Tajikistan.
Tajikistan received this assistance from 43 countries.
Almost one third of this assistance came from Uzbekistan, which aid is valued at around $2.5 million.
The top other donors included China (around $2 million) and Russia ($865,000).
In the same period of 2019, Tajikistan received humanitarian assistance from Uzbekistan for around $160,000.
The overall humanitarian assistance Tajikistan received this year is almost 3 times lower than in 2019, when the country received the aid from 38 countries for about $20 million.
