Condition of coronavirus-positive ex-parliament speaker of Kyrgyzstan improving: Doctors

AKIPRESS.COM - The treatment of ex-parliament speaker Mukar Cholponbayev infected with coronavirus is ongoing amid positive dynamics observed, said the chief physician of state infectious hopsital Guljigit Aaliyev on May 20.
According to him, the health indicators have improved, but he cannot breathe spontaneously and adequately so far. "The patient was put on a ventilator, his condition is critical," the doctor said.
Cholponbayev was taken to the state infectious hospital on May 5.
Cholponbayev served as Minister of Justice of Kyrgyzstan in 1993-1995. In 1995-1996, he was the Speaker of the parliament. Until 2000, he was a member of parliament.
He ran for presidency in the 2017 elections.
