Uzbek medical professionals head to Tajikistan to assist COVID-19 fight

AKIPRESS.COM - A group of medical professionals having experience in treatment of COVID-19 patients headed to Tajikistan. They were seen off by Health Ministe Alisher Shadmanov and other officials, the Health Ministry of Uzbekistan said.
"The Uzbek medical profesionals will help Tajik medical workers in organization of prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19," the Ministry of Health said.
The group includes anaesthetists, pulmonologists, epidemiologists, virologists, infectious disease specialists.
The Ministry of Health noted slowdown of spread of infection in Uzbekistan, the number of recovering patients is growing. Around 600 coronvirus patients were remaining in hospitals by the evening of May 7.
Tajikistan confirmed 461 COVID-19 cases by the evening of May 7. 12 patients died. 4,205 people remain under medical observation in hospitals.
