Kyrgyz Emergency Ministry has one helicopter, but it's broken - Minister

AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Emergency Situations has one helicopter, but it is broken, Emergency Minister Zamirbek Askarov said in Parliament today.
When asked by MPs how the Ministry monitors more than 20 outburst-prone mountainous lakes, Minister Askarov said emergency workers travel to the accessible by car areas and then get to the lakes by foot.
When outburst threat arises, specialists will artificially discharge water from such lakes, the Minister said.
The Ministry has 4 boats.
MP Tazabek Ikramov suggested then to initiate purchase of helicopters and boats for the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
