AKIPRESS.COM - Russian businessmen and philanthropists David Yakobashvili and Yan Yanovskiy arranged a charity campaign since May 5, when meals are delivered to migrant workers from the CIS states affected by coronavirus pandemic for free, Snob reported. "Dozens of thousands of people need such assistance now. Look how many people line up for expired products, how many people look for food in waste containers. Our main task now is to organize logistics. Meals will be cooked in restaurants and we will deliver it. Restaurants won't earn money on this, but their kitchen will keep working and it means their workers will not remain jobless," David Yakobashvili, co-founder of JSC Wimm-Bill-Dann,told Snob.
250 migrant workers received lunches on May 5, he said.
Organizers plan to increase this number to 500-700 lunches a day.
The campaign was supported by the office of the Ministry of Labor of Uzbekistan in Russia.
