AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstan may expect the second wave of coronavirus in a week or two if people continued violating quarantine, said Deputy Health Minister Nurbolot Usenbayev on May 6 press briefing.
He said people started going out more with no masks. He warned of punishments for that during the state of emergency imposed to curb coronavirus spread in Bishkek, Osh, Jalal-Abad regions and At-Bashi district of Naryn region.
"All residents of the country are obliged to follow the recommendations," he said.
He reminded of the danger people pose not only to themselves by violating quarantine, but the most vulnerable to the virus people: elders, grandparents, parents, people with chronic diseases. Therefore he urged people to keep physical distancing, follow the requirements of personal hygiene, to wear masks.
Today Kyrgyzstan confirmed 28 new cases of coronavirus (871 in total) and 1 more death from it (12). 614 people recovered.
Since May 1, some enterprises and businesses (including barbershops and taxis) were allowed to resume operation in Kyrgyzstan amid lockdown, which entailed more people coming out of their homes.
