Cleanup in mudflow-hit Leilek continues

AKIPRESS.COM - Efforts to eliminate the consequences of recent mudflow continue in the Leilek district of Batken region, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said. Some 35 rescuers are involved in cleanup works.
Works on restoring water pipes and protective barriers are under way.
The damage from the natural disaster is estimated at more than 69 million soms.
On May 2, heavy showers and hail in Leilek district caused mudflows damaging houses, kindergarten, outbuildings, roads.
The emergency situation was declared in Isfana town, Toguz-Bulak, Margun, Ak-Suu, Sumbula rural municipalities.
