Water stopped after dam burst in Syrdarya region

AKIPRESS.COM - More than 11,500 people were evacuated today after the burst of the Sardoba dam in Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan.
The water leakage from the dam was stopped. Other parts of the region were not flooded, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
The governmental commission is taking actions to liquidate the consequences of the flooding and to create conditions for evacuated people.
"The situation is under control. There are no reasons for panic," the Emergency Ministry said.
