Kyrgyz MP suggests looking into sharp USD appreciation

AKIPRESS.COM - MP Kojobek Ryspayev suggested creating a commission to investigate the U.S. dollar's sharp rise during a parliamentary session. The country's external debt in the energy sector has grown from 106 billion soms to 121 billion soms because of the U.S. dollar's quick appreciation, he said.
The Finance Ministry should be instructed to hold talks on this issue.
Prime Minister Muhamedkaliy Abilgaziyev said the talks on restructuring the external debt are under way.
On March 19 evening, the exchange rate sharply rose from 73 soms to 85 soms per $1 in just one day.
As of May 1, $1=78.89 soms.
