Villagers evacuated after dam burst in Syrdarya region

AKIPRESS.COM - People living in Kurgantepa village, Syrdarya region, were evacuated after the burst of the Sardobe dam and flooding of the village, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
The dam burst occurred on May 1.
Rescuers evacuated people to safe area. No one injured or killed, the Emergency Ministry said.
Citizens are evacuated from flood risk areas. The Emergency Ministry said it fully controls the situation.
The Sardobe dam was built in 2017. The reservoir contains 922 million cbm of water.
