AKIPRESS.COM - Fines for violation of quarantine requirements in Uzbekistan exceeded 45.8 billion soums (over $4.5 million). Some 14 billion soums ($1.5 million) were already collected, Nurmat Atabekov, Head of the State Inspectorate for Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision, said. 71,028 protocols of violation of sanitary and hygiene rules by citizens not wearing masks and violating quarantine order were issued for 45.8 billion soums. The fines for 14 billion soums were paid, he said.
A half of the collected fines were transferred to the national budget. The remaining half went to the Interior Ministry of Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan declared quarantine until April 20, but then extended it until May 10.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced loosening of the quarantine restrictions in the areas free from coronavirus.
