AKIPRESS.COM - There is a ground for decline in the coronavirus epidemic in Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Health Minister Nurbolot Usenbayev told a briefing April 24.
Since March 12 when the first coronavirus case was detected, a number of measures have been taken to detect and study the virus.
A lot has been done since then and a lot needs to be yet done, he said. There is some stabilization achieved today, and more actions could allow us see a decline, Usenbayev said.
8,500 people exposed to coronavirus patients are under medical supervision. "Now there are grounds for a decline in the epidemic," Usenbayev added.
A total of 656 cases have been confirmed in Kyrgyzstan so far. "All the persons exposed to the virus are monitored. That's why the coronavirus is not widespread here," he said.
"According to epidemiological parameters, we had no strong peak. We predicted a peak for this week. Our curve is going a little smoother. There was no sharp growth," he said.
Experts continue to analyze the situation and the team will give a proposal to the government on further measures.
"We'll look at the situation until the end of the week, we need to properly assess the epidemiological situation and come up with further plans," Usenbayev said.
