Kazakh Health Minister: Serious loosening of quarantine restrictions may be considered in late May

AKIPRESS.COM - Health Minister of Kazakhstan Yelzhan Birtanov suggested the quarantine may last until mid or end of May due to coronavirus. The Minister said May will be still a dangerous period, Tengrinews.kz reported.
"The probability that the quarantine may be extended until the middle or the end of May exists. This depends upon the situation with infection prevalence rate. The only way to contain infection is to reduce contacts. Until people learn to contact less, the government will have to extend restrictions until we cope with this danger," Minister Birtanov said.
"We do not say that nothing will happen after May. I think we will control the situation until the end of May and then may talk about some serious loosening of restrictions," the Health Minister stated.
