AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Damdin Tsogtbaatar briefed on the government's plan on evacuation of citizens of Mongolia trapped abroad, including those who caught coronavirus.
Ten charter flights in cooperation with the National Emergency Commission and MIAT airline were operated to airlift citizens of Mongolia amid coronavirus pandemic, he said.
"Our citizens were evacuated from Seoul, Tokyo, Berlin and Istanbul. We will keep evacuating our citizens from abroad as long as we can. However, the situation is getting more difficult as more countries are closing their borders for flights. Japan, Russia and China have restricted international flights, it is not easy to get permission," the minister said.
Another flight to Korea will take place on April 17.
"Seven Mongols living abroad were infected with coronavirus, including 2 in Moscow. 110 students will arrive in Ulan-Ude by plane tomorrow morning. We will bring people with coronavirus as well," said the head of the National Emergency Commission T. Badral.
