Kyrgyzstan to follow China's lockdown practice in case of coronavirus emergence

AKIPRESS.COM - The law on civil defense designates different levels of declaration of emergency situations, including district, region or national levels, Vice Prime Minister Altinai Omurbekova told a briefing on coronavirus situation today.
"In theory, if coronavirus is confirmed in some rural municipality, emergency will be declared at a district level. This is the practice of China. This area will be locked down to bar entry and exit of citizens," the Vice Prime Minister said.
When coronavirus cases will be confirmed in several districts, the emergency will be declared at the national level, the Vice Prime Minister said.
"If a person contacted people from different regions, the nation-wide emergency will be declared. We have the algorithm of actions for emergency declaration," the Vice Prime Minister underscored.
