Panic spreading to be punished in Uzbekistan up to 5 years in prison

AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan warned about criminal sanctions for panic spreading. Making materials or their storage for further distribution aimed at causing panic among population will be fined (from $4,600 to $9,300), or will be punished with community service up to 3 years or 1-5 years in prison, the Ministry of Justice said.
The same actions by a group of people, with abuse of power, with information obtained from foreign states, organizations of foreign nationals, with use of mass media will be punished from 5 to 8 years in prison.
Six COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Uzbekistan so far, including 5 cases in one family.
