AKIPRESS.COM - Tajik citizens have been stuck in the neutral zone between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan: they are not allowed to cross the border into Uzbekistan and not admitted to return back to Kazakhstan either. There are women with children among them. The Tajik Foreign Ministry and other involved agencies are working to resolve the situation, Asia-Plus reported.
Hundreds of Tajik citizens returning from Russia to Tajikistan are stranded on the Kazakh-Uzbek border since yesterday.
The exact number of Tajik citizens stuck there is unknown yet.
"Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan restricted entry over coronavirus outbreak. For this reason, some citizens returning from Russia faced the problem having been stuck in the neutral zone. The Tajik Foreign Ministry in cooperation with Kazakh and Uzbek authorities is working on this problem," the Tajik Foreign Ministry said.
