Checkpoint on Kyrgyz-Uzbek border checked as Covid-19 cases confirmed in Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Dostuk checkpoint on Kyrgyz-Uzbek border in Osh region has been visited by Kyrgyz authorities after coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Uzbekistan, the region's government reported. Osh Governor Uzarbek Jylkybayev on March 15 visited the checkpoint, where he got acquainted with activities on prevention of coronavirus outbreak in the territory of Kyrgyzstan. The situation is stable, the checkpoint operates as normally, the press service said.
"No reasons for concerns," the statement says.
The talks were also held with the leadership of the Osh airport on creation of conditions for quarantine of people in case of coronavirus infections.
The airport continues to work in normal mode.
Uzbekistan confirmed 4 cases of coronavirus infection as of March 16 morning, while no cases of new virus were reported in Kyrgyzstan.
