AKIPRESS.COM - Tajikistan will increase electricity exports to the neighboring states since mid-April, Avesta reported.
This is the time when the water inflow will exceed water spending at the Vakhsh chain of hydropower plants.
Some 62 million kWh of electricity are produced a day, some 59 million kWh are consumed domestically.
Barki Tojik energy holding chairman Mirzo Ismoildoza said earlier in February Tajikistan plans to increase electricity exports to Afghanistan this year.
He said the agreement was reached with Afghanistan's Breshna company on electricity supplies for this year. Tajikistan will export 1.588 billion kWh of electricity this year, which is for almost 30 million kWh more than in 2019. Some 1.458 billion kWh for $60.6 million were exported last year.
