South Korean clinic refuses to give body of dead Kazakhstani woman to relatives due to debts

AKIPRESS.COM - A Kazakhstani woman died in one of the clinics of the city of Busan, South Korea, after a long lasting illness, Sputnik Kazakhstan said.
The woman's husband can not deliver the body to Kazakhstan, as the family owes the clinic about $40,000.
The man appealed to the consular service of the Embassy of Kazakhstan on February 21 in South Korea.
The consular service helped the family in official registration of death of the woman, spokesman of the MFA Aibek Smadiyarov said.
Then on February 25 the Embassy received another appeal from the man. He asked to provide a financial aid for payment to the local clinic for medical services for 45 million Korean wons.
"The budget of the foreign offices and the MFA of Kazakhstan does not envisage financing of medical service of Kazakh citizens," the spokesman noted.
However, taking into consideration the difficulties of the family, the Embassy sent a letter to the clinic with a request to consider the issue of providing privileges or deductions.
