Ex-Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan handed 5-year prison sentence

AKIPRESS.COM - The military court announced the guilty verdict for former Prosecutor General Otabek Murodov. Murodov was sentenced to 5 years in prison, the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan said.
He was found guilty of bribery.
It was reported earlier that on 18 September 2019 Otabek Murodov was summoned for questioning as part of the investigation against former State Security Service Chairman Ihtiyor Abdullaev and remained in custody since that time.
Murodov was appointed Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan in January 2018. Before that appointment, he was state advisor to the President of Uzbekistan.
