Kazakhstan seeks to increase renewable energy production by 25%

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan plans to produce about 3 billion kWh of energy from renewable energy sources in 2020, Minister of Energy Nurlan Nogayev said at the meeting today.
According to him, a market of renewable energy is growing annually.
In 2019, Kazakhstan produced 2.4 billion kWh of renewable energy, which is 77.8% more than the same period of 2018. A share of renewable energy sources in the total volume of energy production accounts for 2.3%.
Minister said 21 facilities of the renewable energy sources were commissioned in 2019.
According to the projects of the renewable energy sources, the total investments made $613 billion.
Renewal energy production in 2020 will reach about 3 billion kWh of electricity, Nogayev noted.
