AKIPRESS.COM - More than 120 criminal cases have been launched after mass disorders and murders in Kordai district of Zhambyl region, chief of the investigation department of the Interior Ministry Sanzhar Adilov said at the briefing in the government, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports. Reports earlier said 90 criminal cases were opened.
Adilov said that he can not tell how many people are being prosecuted.
The work is carried out by special prosecutors of the General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan, he noted.
On the night of February 7, mass disorders occurred in Kordai district. According to the Interior Ministry, the incident happened due to the road conflict, which was turned into inter-ethnic clashes by provocators. According to the latest reports, 11 people died, almost 50 participants of the disorders were detained. Tens of houses, trade centers and vehicles were burnt as a result of arsons.
