53 participants of unauthorized rallies detained in Almaty and Nur-Sultan — Interior Ministry

AKIPRESS.COM - Interior Minister of Kazakhstan Yerlan Turgumbayev said 53 participants of unauthorized protests were detained on February 22 in Almaty and Nur-Sultan, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports.
Some were brought to administrative liability, 43 people were released after explanatory works, Turgumbayev told reporters after the government session.
On February 21, the General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan appealed to the citizens and urged not to participate in the rallies organized by a fugitive tycoon, a leader of the extremist organization Democratic Choice of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Ablyazov.
The protests were held mainly in Almaty and Nur-Sultan, the Minister noted.
