Prices for tobacco products up in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Prices for cigarettes increased by 10% within a year in Kazakhstan, zakon.kz reported.
According to the energyprom.kz, production of cigarettes and other tobacco products grew by 26.5% within a year amounting to 521.2 million pieces.
In Jan-Dec 2019, production of cigarettes totaled 17.4 billion pieces, which is 4.1% less than in 2018.
A growth of prices is observed in Jan 2020. Average price for one package of cigarettes increased by 10.4% within a year (425.5 tenge).
The excise duty for cigarettes was increased by 13% since January 1, 2020.
