Vehicles to be fined for excess emissions in Almaty

AKIPRESS.COM - Special mini buses will be launched in Almaty to measure the level of air pollution by vehicles, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported.
The vehicles will be taken in case of exceeding the allowable emissions.
Mayor Bakytzhan Sagintayev told the residents that specialists from Moscow were invited for resolution of smog and other issues in the city.
"Certain works are being carried out on thermal power stations. In terms of transport, we invited Moscow specialists that are well specialized in tackling traffic jams and so on," the mayor noted.
According to him, a strategy on resolution of smog issue will be developed further.
10 mini buses will be checking the vehicles emissions and fine them for excess emissions, he said.
