AKIPRESS.COM - The Karakol Nature Park, which is located in Issyk-Kul region, is a place, where one can meet a lot of endangered animals, including snow leopads, saker falcons and other animals.
The Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry of Kyrgyzstan told about the Karakol Nature Park.
The park was founded in 1997 in purpose of preserving unique nature, forests of flora and fauna that are of special environmental value.
The park is home to more than 300 kinds of plants, including 7 endangered. The nature park is a place for heavy planting of various kinds of fir trees and others.
More than 40 species of mammals and more than 100 species of birds live here. Most of them are rare ones.
A total territory of the nature park is more than 38 thousand ha. The park is divided into 4 functional zones: a zone of environmental stabilization, reserve zone, a tourist and recreational zone and a zone for restricted business activities.
