Exports and imports drop in Mongolia over coronavirus

AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolia's exports dropped 24.4% and import declined 6.1% over coronavirus. China accounts almost 95% of Mongolia's imports, mostly vehicles, fuel, chemicals and iron.
The State Customs Administration held a briefing on February 7 on preliminary trade results for January 2020 and the actions taken at customs checkpoints to prevent coronavirus infection.
Mongolia exported goods for $459 million in January, which is 24.4% less than in January 2019. Imports amounted to $473 million, which is 6.1% down than in the previous year.
Significant rise in imports of face masks and disinfectants is observed in the country.
