AKIPRESS.COM - Deputy Interior Minister of Kazakhstan Aleksey Kalaichidi told a briefing in Nur-Sultan that 5 police officers were injured in the mass disorders in Masanchi village. They did not use weapon, he said, zakon,kz reported. The Deputy Interior Minister shared the chronology of the events of the first day of disorders.
At around 7.00 pm a brawl occurred between locals on domestic matters. The police officers arrived at the scene. Provocateurs were making video of the conflict and shared videos on the social media with different comments. Additional police forces were deployed to Masanchi village. The young people were aggressive and refused to obey the orders of police. They opened fire and set houses ablaze. The National Guard soldiers were deployed to the area then.
Ten people were killed. 43 were taken to the hospital. 39 people are still in hospital.
The Deputy Interior Minister offered condolences to families of those who were killed.
"Three police officers of the five injured have gunshot wounds. The police did not use weapon," the Deputy Interior Minister underlined.
As a result of the massive disorders on February 7 in Masanchi village 10 were killed. More than 30 houses, 15 stores and 23 cars were destroyed. 2 shotguns were seized.
